We are wholly owned and run by Neil and Fiona who have lived in Buckhurst Hill and Theydon Bois since the mid-1990s. We set up Definition Lawn Care as a family business with one simple ambition: to help people in the local area enjoy the full potential of their gardens in as environmentally friendly way as possible.

We use British made organic feeds and fertilisers, British made peat-free organic top dressings and proven lawn care methods that nourish the soil, roots and leaves naturally.
Definition Lawn Care’s focus is to work with rather than against nature wherever possible, so we try to avoid using synthetic fertilisers and damaging chemicals whilst still achieving the outcome you want.

Neil might not be what you expect of your gardener. He started his professional mowing career in the 1980s when, for several years, he cut the fairways at a 9-hole golf course in Sussex during his school and university summer holidays.
Neil then had a career break for over 30 years during which he became a commercial property solicitor in London. But while he was sitting at his screen drafting documents he would daydream about better spending his time wandering up and down gardens creating stripes in beautiful lawns!
So that is what he has now been doing for several years, building upon what he learnt as a lawyer about attention to detail, customer service and professionalism.
